Olly Winder (b.2002) is a London based British artist who works through painting, new media and installation. Utilising found symbols, scents, objects, footage and substances, he creates narratives that investigate attraction and perfection and their relationship with contemporary masculinity, violence and control. He is interested in how these perceptions of empathy, desire and body-image are warped as a result of consumer culture, internet culture and the beauty industry wherein complex human emotions and behaviours are often reduced into militarised, commercial or neurochemical and pharmaceutical processes and technology and hormonal enhancements blur the line between bodily autonomy and dependence.
